Coaching Staff

Coach Tingley began his wrestling coaching career at his alma mater Westerville South High School in Ohio. After four years as an assistant, Russ took over and served as Head Coach for 6 years. With the birth of his first son, Russ stepped down as the Head Coach to focus on family.

Since moving to Angola in 2006, Russ coached wrestling in multiple positions at both AMS and AHS before taking over as AHS Head Coach in 2020.

Russ is also an active coach at AHS outside of wrestling where he has been an assistant HS Football Coach, MS Track coach, and HS Baseball coach.

Russ is a Special Education teacher at the High School and lives with his wife Christy in Angola and they have two sons Brock (21) and Grant (25).

Coach Lanam has been coaching wrestling in Angola at some level since 2016 when he graduated from Angola High School. After leaving AHS, he continued his competitive career at Ancilla Junior College where he was a two year starter and team captain and graduated in 2018.

Coach Lanam took over the AMS wrestling program as head coach in 2020 after 2 seasons as an assistant. He also serves as a Freshman football coach at AHS, all while finishing up his senior year at Trine University where he is studying Physical Education and Health.

Coach Pearson has been helping out coaching wrestling in the Angola program in some capacity since graduating from AHS in 2018. He is currently studying Mechanical Engineering at Trine University.

Coach Pearson joined the AMS wrestling staff along with Coach Lanam in 2020.
